
David A. Brenner
David A. Brenner is a physician-scientist and president and chief executive officer of Sanford Burnham Prebys, an independent biomedical research institute based in La Jolla. Previously, he was vice chancellor for health sciences at UC San Diego and dean of the School of Medicine, serving an unprecedented 15 years. A leader in gastroenterology research, Brenner is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians.
