Chamber benefits: The Poway Chamber of Commerce will host a Member Tools & Benefits Drop-in Clinic to offer help with building a Business Directory listing, boosting visibility and business connections, and improving marketing strategies from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, June 6 at the Poway Library’s Community Room, 13137 Poway Road. Find bargains: Seven Oaks Community Garage Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 7. Many houses are participating. For a list of addresses, stop first at the Seven Oaks Community Center parking lot, 16789 Bernardo Oaks Drive in Rancho Bernardo. Some sellers will also be in the parking lot.

Intergenerational Garden: The County’s Aging and Independence Services is sponsoring a project to turn an “eyesore” at the Ed Brown Center for Active Adults into a welcoming space, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 7. Volunteers will be tearing out the old garden to get it ready for a new one with native, medicinal and edible plants. The center is at 18402 W Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo Community Park. Free food: LifeBridge Church will hold its monthly food distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7 in its lower parking lot, 17645 W. Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo. The food is made possible through Buckheart Ranch, a San Diego Food Bank agency. Typically distributed are boxed and canned goods, plus fresh produce. Food drive: Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church will hold a drive-thru grocery collection from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7 in its upper parking lot, 17010 Pomerado Road. Items will go to New Day Urban Ministries, which helps those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity while rebuilding their lives. Needed are canned meals, meats, fruits, soups, chili, and vegetables; boxed pasta; cereals; oatmeal; snacks and plastic jars of peanut butter, jelly, and pasta sauces. Donations of cash or checks written to “New Day Urban Ministries” appreciated.

Folk festival: San Diego Folk Heritage will host its annual Sam Hinton Folk Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Road. Horse show: Saturday June 7 . The Poway Valley Riders Association will present a youth and family-oriented Gymkhana show at  5 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the PVRA grounds, 14336 Tierra Bonita Road.
