Carmel Valley flutist Maggie Liang, 16, winner of the 2025 MTAC Concerto Competition, will perform the Chaminade Concertino with the MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Branden Muresan on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, 7:30 p.m. at MiraCosta College in Oceanside as part of the MTAC Young Artist Showcase. Tickets can be purchased online at miracosta.edu/buytix or by ing the box office at 760-795-6815.

Maggie is a Canyon Crest Academy sophomore ionate about music and academics. A dedicated flutist for five years under the tutelage of Dr. Elena Yarritu, Maggie performs with the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra’s advanced orchestra and concert band. Throughout her musical journey, she has earned recognition as a finalist in the MTAC VOCE competition and the Helen B. Goodlin Competition while also winning awards in the San Diego Flute Guild and San Diego Rotary Club Young Artist Competitions, according to a news release.

Beyond her musical pursuits, Maggie actively engages in robotics, enjoys challenging herself with mathematical problems, and finds inspiration in historical fiction.
