AANHPI Eats Week: Seven restaurants are taking part in MSG Hospitality’s inaugural AANHPI Eats Week. The occasion is meant to celebrate restaurants and chefs from the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities for AANHPI Heritage Month in May. The participating restaurants and businesses include Zen Modern Asian Bistro, Nozomi, Marufuku Ramen, Lia’s Lumpia, Kingfisher, Kalei’s Kitchenette and Glass Box. Mother’s Day Beatles Brunch: Enjoy Beatles songs while eating brunch for Mother’s Day at Quartyard. Beatles cover band Abbey Road will play several classics such as “A Day in the Life” and “Twist & Shout.” Ticketed guests will get designated seating, a fruit cup and a choice of a main entree consisting of chilaquiles, huevos rancheros or pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. Cocktail experience: A magical mixology encounter is taking place at Slater’s 50/50 with the arrival of the Wizards and Wands Cocktail Experience. This traveling show blends smoke, elixirs, potions, bubbles, cauldrons, alcohol and mocktails for a unique drinking engagement. Mixologists will make unique beverages suitable for adults and children. The Wizards and Wands Cocktail Experience also includes themed games, riddles and challenges for a chance to win prizes. The space will be filled with floating candles, wands, mystical music and staff dressed in costume. Wands and costumes are encouraged but not required. Burgers for a cause: National Burger Month is in May, and to celebrate, Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern is giving back to military families with a burger special. Tequila and Tajin: Cutwater’s Tasting Room and Kitchen is partnering with Mexican seasoning company Tajin for tequila tastings and tours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in May. This seasonal event includes a 50-minute guided tour of the Cutwater distillery and tasting room. Ticketed guests will also sample Cutwater’s blanco and anejo tequilas, spicy mango margarita, paloma and appetizers from the kitchen. Found Oyster x Herb & Sea collaboration: Herb & Sea restaurant will host a cookbook-release party for chef-owner Ari Kolender of the Los Angeles-based seafood concepts Queen St. and Michelin-recommended Found Oyster from 5 to 8:30 p.m. May 14.
