It is time for those of all ages to express their creativity on the sidewalks winding through Rancho Bernardo Community Park.
The 15th annual Chalk It Up sidewalk chalk art competition will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 in the park. It is free to enter and participants are asked to meet near the playground. The park is at 18448 W. Bernardo Drive.
Each entrant will be provided a bucket of chalk. Entrants are also welcome to bring chalk. They can begin their drawing at any time during the event as long as it is completed prior to judging.
First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded in age categories, along with an overall winner. The age categories are preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, adults and seniors.
Free refreshments, such as cookies and bottled water, will be provided. Each entrant will also be given a gift card to Chick-fil-A, according to RB Community Council President Robin Kaufman. Casa de las Campanas is donating the cookies, while Albertsons is providing the water.
The contest is organized each year by the Rancho Bernardo Community Council. For questions, email @RBCommunityCouncil.com.
