One person died and another was injured Monday night after falling from a border barrier in San Diego, Border Patrol officials said.
Border Patrol agents found two people “who appeared to have fallen from the border barrier” attempting to enter the United States around 11 p.m., the agency said in a statement.
The San Diego Police Department said the two were found near Clearwater Way and Dairy Mart Road, west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was transported to a hospital, Border Patrol said. Both were Vietnamese nationals, officials said. The name of the deceased person was not released.
