UPDATED:

Folks in and around La Jolla can have organic food delivered, get access to cancer services close to home, find a workspace away from home and pick up savory and sweet French treats through the latest batch of businesses recently opened or coming soon.

Here’s a breakdown.

Salt + Soil

Though it lacks a physical storefront, a new La Jolla-based business is offering meal delivery, private chef services and event catering.

Giovanni Doemeny and Brooke Robertson, co-founders of Salt + Soil, were born and raised in La Jolla and attended La Jolla High School.

Describing Salt + Soil as “San Diego’s premier organic meal delivery,” Doemeny and Robertson focus on meals free of gluten, seed oil and refined sugar.

Doemeny and Robertson say their business has four key values — health, sustainability, quality and community. Toward sustainability, they vow to plant a tree with every order they receive “to sequester carbon, regenerate soil and biodiversity.”

They also hold community dinners in La Jolla and other coastal neighborhoods. The next one, called “Casa Primavera,” will be Thursday, March 13, at a home in La Jolla. The event includes at least three organic courses served family-style. Tickets are $70-$95 at bit.ly/43fI4J7. The location will be disclosed upon reservation.

Medical Oncology Associates of San Diego

Medical Oncology Associates of San Diego’s fifth clinic opened Feb. 3 at 9850 Genesee Ave. in La Jolla. The facility says it offers “a whole spectrum of cancer care services, from early detection and diagnosis to treatment and ongoing , including access to innovative clinical trials.”

The clinic was launched with oncologist and hematologist Dr. Sabina Wallach. MOASD is a partner of OneOncology, a group formed in 2018 to provide investment, customized technology and expertise to oncology practices.

Bodhe expansion

Bodhe Co.’s first -only work and social hub opened last April at 1295 Prospect St. in La Jolla and quickly outgrew its space. With every day this year fully booked with a waiting list, the company is expanding to a second location above Richard Walker’s Pancake House at 909 Prospect, according to founder and owner Samantha Score. It is set to open Monday, March 24.

Bodhe says its relaxed, casual setting is “designed to make your workday feel less like work.” The new location, called “The Porch,” will be dedicated to work and social events, while the first location, “The Lounge,” will be for private office rentals and “intimate events.”

Bodhe also includes perks and discounts for a variety of local businesses, as well as events such as social happy hours and workout classes.

Bodhe hips range from $75 to $200 a month. It also offers team hips at [email protected].

Parfait Paris

Guillaume and Ludi Ryon opened Parfait Paris in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter in 2014. They’ve since added seven more locations, the latest of which is in La Jolla’s Village at 7874 Girard Ave. There also is a location at Westfield UTC mall.

Parfait Paris is a patisserie and boulangerie selling homemade French favorites — from croissants and macarons to baguettes and its bestseller, Dubai Pain Suisse. It also offers breakfast and brunch items, gelato, coffee, cocktails, beer and wine.

“My husband and I both have the same value and goal to make everything ‘fait maison avec amour,’ which means ‘made in house with love,’” Ludi Ryon said.

Their newest location opened Feb. 14 and will offer new menu items, including a tuna melt sandwich, soups and a French-style burger.

Opening a location in La Jolla has long been a goal for the Ryons.

“We are truly enthusiastic to be in La Jolla,” Ludi said. “We have been wanting to come to this beautiful neighborhood since we first started 10 years ago. It really reminds us of Europe to be surrounded by so many great local businesses and being part of this family community.”

Beyond the menu, they also plan to start an art wall featuring works by local artists.
