Susan G. Komen San Diego will host its inaugural Impact Luncheon on March 21 at Mister A’s in Bankers Hill. This special event will raise awareness about breast cancer while providing crucial resources for those undergoing treatment and navigating difficult times.

Celebrity chef and restauranteur Sam Zien, also known as “Sam the Cooking Guy,”  and his wife Kelly Zien, a breast cancer survivor, will serve as luncheon hosts.

As the leading organization in the fight against breast cancer, Susan G. Komen is focused on discovering breakthroughs for the most aggressive types of breast cancer while ensuring access to high-quality care for all. According to a news release, the event will bring together leaders in the medical, business, and philanthropic sectors to discuss the most pressing challenges and opportunities in breast cancer treatment. The luncheon will also feature the Impact Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations in the breast cancer community.

“We are thrilled to launch this inaugural luncheon, which gives us an opportunity to foster deeper connections in our community and showcase how companies and individuals can make a difference in our fight against breast cancer through this socially-forward event,” said Leia Brune, executive director of Susan G. Komen San Diego, in a news release. “With the of sponsors like CBS 8 and The CW, as well as the involvement of Sam and Kelly Zien, we are confident this event will have a profound impact on those in need while raising crucial funds to breast cancer treatment and care.”
