The California Highway Patrol was investigating two deaths on South County freeways Monday.

The first incident occurred about 6 a.m. when a car struck a pedestrian on southbound Interstate 805 at San Ysidro Boulevard, the CHP said.

The pedestrian died at a hospital later in the morning. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.

Shortly after noon in Otay Mesa, a person was found dead on state Route 905.

The body, described only as male, was discovered on the westbound side of the freeway, just west of Beyer Boulevard, the CHP said.

It was not immediately clear if the victim had been struck by any vehicles, the CHP reported.
