Thank you, Inga, for the laughter
It’s rare these days to read something that makes me laugh out loud, so I have to applaud Inga’s column on Dec. 26 (“To yield or not to yield … actually, yield,” Let Inga Tell You, La Jolla Light) because it did just that. Who knew the “roundaboutlets” in Bird Rock could be so amusing?
I, too, am a fan of signage to help those helpless souls who just can’t figure out what’s going on and need direction. Her street-by-street instructions were hilarious because each was so true, especially how they progressed. She had me at Kolmar Street’s “WHY?” (yield) to the very end, as the comments just got funnier and funnier.
Thank you, Inga, for making the foibles of human nature so entertaining.
Ashley Mackin-Solomon does an absolutely heroic job, week in and week out, covering La Jolla’s serious community business, and I salute her diligence. However, I must it that each week, after skimming those articles, I eagerly turn to Inga’s latest comedic spin on whatever strikes her fancy.
To me, the best humor comes out of honesty, and Inga’s knack for telling it like it is keeps me smiling. So again, thank you, Inga (and Olaf, her amiable sidekick) and please keep it up. We all need a chance to laugh out loud, these days more than ever.
