UPDATED:

Jackson Design & Remodeling’s award-winning team of designers and architects have revealed their annual list of the top trends for the new year, predicting that 2025 home designs will embrace a sense of coziness and cocooning that soothes all the senses. Warm hues and the artisanship and romance of the past will inspire the luxury and ease of today’s homes.

According to Jackson Design and Remodeling Senior Interior Designer Jen Pinto, “A warm and inviting home is the ultimate goal in home design in 2025, especially inspired by Old World and Romantic ideas. We love the emphasis on design details like texture, finishes, and lighting that give character to design and bring it to life.”

Color trends this year are decidedly rich and earthy with some nature-influenced blues and greens. Pantone pronounced “Mocha Mousse” their 2025 color of the year, describing it as “Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic.”

Each year, Jackson Design & Remodeling’s highly acclaimed design team, which has been featured in major national print and online publications including The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, HGTV, Architectural Digest and USA Today, share their list of top interior design trends. Here’s a look at their trend forecast.

Cozy vibes

The cozy trend is all about creating harmony at home with warm, lived-in interiors and elements that feel comfortable and luxurious.

Warm, earthy hues and color drenching

Browns, terra cotta, and deep greens bring nature inside for grounded and soothing spaces. Color drenching – painting walls, ceiling, doors and trim the same color – takes this trend all the way for a cocooning effect.

Romantic silhouettes

Soft and luxurious romance will be returning to homes with a wave of touchable fabrics, floral notes, and an emphasis on charming vignettes that create intimacy.

Old-World & nostalgia

Vintage-inspired spaces and accessories are on the rise as people seek to bring the comfort and romance of the past to today’s homes.

Wood-infused architectural warmth

Natural wood architectural elements like ceiling beams, trim, wall ing, and cabinetry combine two 2025 trends – an emphasis on nature and an appreciation for Old World ideas.

Artisanal natural materials

“Honest” materials that show imperfections – think reclaimed woods, brick, unfinished concrete, and natural stones – add visual depth to interiors.

Pops of red

The classic idea of red as an accent color was re-inspired this year by the viral Tik Tok trend “Unexpected Red,” which highlighted the magic of adding anything red to a space where you wouldn’t necessarily think it would “match.” This trend can energize your space with surprise.

Eat-in kitchens

Eating in the kitchen isn’t really a trend – we all do it, right? – but creating dedicated space for sharing meals in the kitchen is hot in 2025.

Oversized islands

The largest islands keep getting larger as people look for more space in the kitchen, the center of family life and socializing. Serving multiple purposes for prep, cooking, socializing, and storage, the extra large island is a hero in the kitchen.

Sensorial design

The “sensorial” design trend captures the overarching emphasis on warmth, coziness, and cocooning this year and expands it to all the senses, from the relaxing scent of a candle to the feel of soft, textural fabrics.
