Ten vehicles were destroyed at an Otay Mesa salvage yard early Sunday before firefighters got the blaze under control.

Someone called 911 around 8 a.m. to report the fire on Heritage Road near Pogo Row. More than 30 personnel from San Diego Fire-Rescue were dispatched, officials said.

Authorities initially received a report of a fire in a couple of vehicles, which spread to others. The cause is under investigation.

The heavy fog made it difficult for the firefighters, but in about two hours the fire had been contained, said José Ysea, spokesperson for the department.

No injuries were reported.
