Davidson (5-3, 3-2) at USD (4-3, 2-2)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Torero Stadium

Streaming: ESPN+, with radio call on usdtoreros.com

History: USD leads 14-5, but Davidson has won three of the past four, including 55-35 last year.

Wildcats notes: Davidson is quarterbacked by senior Luke Durkin, a former Scripps Ranch High School standout. Durkin guides an option attack that has seen Davidson run the ball 467 times and attempt just 120 es. In a 48-38 home loss to Butler last week, Durkin completed 9 of 14 es for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns. For the season, Durkin is 24 of 39 for 424 yards with 6 TDs and no INTs. He’s not much of a running threat, having gained 39 yards. A win would assure the visitors of a seventh straight winning season.

Toreros notes: USD is coming off a lackluster 34-14 loss at St. Thomas. A week after permitting 343 yards rushing and 7.8 yards per attempt, USD faces a Davidson attack that averages 337.6 rushing yards per game.  Wide receiver Ja’seem Reed leads the Pioneer Football League in catches (6.9 per game), yards receiving (631) and receiving TDs (six).
