
One down and 12 wins to go. The San Diego Padres started their path to their first World Series title with a 4-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Wild-Card Series at Petco Park on Tuesday.
The Friars’ Game 1 starting pitcher Michael King threw seven scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts and zero walks, and Jason Adam and Robert Suarez each pitched an inning. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Kyle Higashioka both had two RBIs.

Wednesday: Game 2
- First pitch is slated for 5:38 p.m.
- Gallagher Square will open at 3 p.m. for a pregame party with music and photo opportunities. The rest of the Petco Park gates will open at 3:30 p.m.
- Pitcher Joe Musgrove is slated to start the game.
Thursday: Game 3 (if necessary)
- First pitch is scheduled for 4:08 p.m.
- Gallagher Square will open at 1:30 p.m. for a pregame party with music and photo opportunities. The remaining gates will open at 2 p.m.
- Pitcher Dylan Cease is expected to start the game.
TV
Game 2 is airing on ESPN2 and Games 3 will be broadcast on ESPN. ESPN Deportes will broadcast the games in Spanish. All games can be streamed on the ESPN app. Karl Ravech, David Cone, Eduardo Perez and Buster Olney will call the games.

Fans can listen to all Padres playoff games on the radio via 97.3 The Fan or ESPN Radio in English and XEMO 860 in Spanish.

Parking
The Padres are encouraging fans to purchase parking ahead of time. Parking spots can be purchased in advance on the Padres’ SpotHero Parking page.
Public transit
All three of the Metropolitan Transit System’s trolley lines arrive at or near Petco Park. A few bus routes also go to Petco Park, such as the 12, 901 and 929. Fares are $2.50 one-way for adults and $1.25 for seniors and $6 for an adult day and $3 for a senior day . Fans 18 years and under can ride for free thanks to the MTS Youth Opportunity .
Ride-sharing
A designated pick-up and drop-off area is located in between the Convention Center and the Bayfront Hilton Hotel for those taking a ride-sharing service such as Lyft or Uber, according to the Padres.
Watch parties and specials
Several downtown sports bars are promoting that they will be showing the Padres playoff games. Here are a few of the options for watch parties.
- AleSmith Brewing Company is hosting parties every day the Padres play this week starting with audio playing from the broadcast, food trucks and beer specials. 9990 AleSmith Court, San Diego.
- Borrego Rooftop Kitchen + Cocktails has complimentary draft beers for fans who show a Padres game ticket. The rooftop bar on the ninth floor of the Hotel Indigo in the East Village will open at 3 p.m. and offer a full food menu that includes tacos, salads, seafood, appetizers and a few dessert options. 509 Ninth Ave., San Diego.
- Happy Does in the Gaslamp Quarter is promoting various drink specials during the game such as a bucket of five beers for $30, five Topo Chico hard seltzers for $35 and $8 Crown Royal whiskey shots. 340 Fifth Ave., San Diego.
- The Deck at Moonshine Flats will be broadcasting the games on its TVs and LED screens with the game audio on.
