GymGuyz, founded in 2008, bills itself as the first in-home mobile personal training and fitness franchise company.
It brings workouts to its clients when and where it’s convenient for them. That includes professional certified trainers, equipment and a workout customized depending on a client’s fitness level, goals, ability, age and experience.
GymGuyz has no contracts or monthly fees, and the first session is always free. It also offers discounts on the advance purchase of 12, 24, 48 or 96 workout sessions.
This newspaper group asked the following questions of Michael Cantu, owner of GymGuyz’ San Diego-North County operation, to find out more.
Q. When and how did your business start?
A. We opened GymGuyz San Diego-North County in November as a franchise out of New York. We explored various franchise opportunities as we sought to become business owners and offer a valuable service to the community. Upon meeting the GymGuyz team and learning about their services and business model, they became the obvious choice for us.

Q. What services do you offer?
A. We provide a range of personal training services, including cardio, group training, prenatal exercise, senior fitness training, strength training, stretching, weight loss and toning. Our GymGuyz van is equipped with all the necessary equipment, allowing us to bring the workout directly to our clients.
