Devising the perfect Daily Fantasy Sports strategy for the NFL can be a challenge, which is why I’m here weekly to assist.
On DraftKings, it’s important to you’re playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player sures 300 ing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.
Here is my optimal lineup for Sunday’s $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but it can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.
All prices listed are courtesy of DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.
These lineups have netted $145, so that leaves me $40 in the hole with an average score of 142.81 points through 10 weeks.
Year-To-Date Results
Week 1: 170.52 points
Week 2: 141.30 points
Week 3: 130.78 points
Week 4: 152.50 points
Week 5: 162.32 points
Week 6: 146.56 points
Week 7: 156.78 points
Week 8: 139.86 points
Week 9: 97.54 points
Week 10: 129.98 points
QB: Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins ($7,700)
Mike McDaniels’ hyperdrive offense is averaging 43.5 points per game when it’s at home and has scored at least 31 points in all four games played at Miami this season. Tagovailoa has thrown 12 of his 19 touchdowns in those four contests while averaging over 300 ing yards and 25.6 DraftKings points. From a clean pocket, he’s averaging 9.2 yards per attempt with a 118.0 QB rating. The Raiders are 18th in pressure rate (34.3 percent).
RB: Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions ($7,000)
The Bears have actually been good against the run, which is why I favor Gibbs over David Montgomery this week. Chicago has allowed the fourth-most receptions per game and the second-highest yards per reception to running backs. Plus, in Montgomery’s return last week against the Chargers, Gibbs played more snaps (38-to-25) and had more touches (17-to-12).
RB: Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders ($5,800)
This is a volume-based choice with Robinson averaging 14 touches and 74 total yards per game this season. Those numbers should receive a boost with Antonio Gibson sidelined with a toe injury, plus a positive game script with Washington favored by two scores at home shouldn’t hurt either.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Dolphins ($9,300)
What a rare treat it is we get to utilize Hill after a rare subpar performance against his former team overseas — he “only” had eight receptions for 62 yards in against the Chiefs. “Cheetah” is averaging 153.3 yards and 32.1 DraftKings points in Miami’s four home games.
WR: Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins ($7,600)
Waddle usually destroys zone coverage. The Raiders play zone 81.3 percent of the time — the third-highest rate in the NFL. This completes my Fins’ double-stack.
WR: Khalil Shakir, Bills ($3,200)
I expect Buffalo to work the middle of the field while the Jets’ stud outside corners make life difficult on the perimeter. Shakir has at least four receptions in three of the last four games with an average of 52 yards per game since Week 7.
TE: Pat Freiermuth, Steelers ($2,500)
This is a total flier based on cost — you’ll never find a punt option at tight end with higher upside — but Freiermuth is expected to be activated from injured reserve and play against the Browns. It’s a difficult matchup, but that could work in our favor with many ing on the discount in favor of pricier options with lower ceilings.
FLEX: Michael Wilson, Cardinals ($3,400)
I anticipate Wilson seeing a boost in value with Kyler Murray under center — the talented rookie had a TD nullified because of a penalty in Murray’s return last week. According to Pro Football Focus, Wilson has the highest average depth of target among Arizona’s top receivers at 14.8 and Murray has never been shy about taking shots down field.
DST: Pittsburgh Steelers ($3,500)
In Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s only start this year, he threw three interceptions, took four sacks and led the Browns to just three points.
