Dine Out for the Cure: Eating well for a good cause

More than 50 restaurants, bakeries and coffeehouses from Carlsbad to Jamul, downtown San Diego to La Mesa, Ramona and North Park are offering customers a way to breast cancer patients and research by participating in the 7th Annual Dine Out for the Cure.

The eateries will donate a portion of their sales on that day to Komen San Diego, which hopes to raise $35,000. The funds will go toward providing free mammograms and financial assistance, among other programs.

A record number of places have ed the 2019 fundraiser, including The Crack Shack in Encinitas, 15 locations of The Broken Yolk, Hob Nob Hill in Bankers Hill, Bistro on Main Street in Vista, and Sahara Taste of the Middle East in Rancho San Diego.

Dine Out for the Cure: Thursday, Oct. 17. Various participating eateries across San Diego County will donate proceeds of their sales, ranging from 10 percent to 25 percent. komensandiego.org/dine-out-restaurants-2019
