The San Diego Union-Tribune’s Ultimate Casino Guide takes a spin at the region’s 10 properties.

Located in North County, Casino Pauma was opened in May 2001. It does not have a hotel but features gaming, dining and live entertainment. 

Gaming: Its a 35,000-square-foot casino with over 1,000 slot machines and 19 table games.

Dining: Among the property’s three options is the Grove Buffet, which offers local organic products, a pasta station and prime rib nightly. The Café serves breakfast, salads, sandwiches, all-day dinner, Asian specialties and sweets. The 24/7 Casino Pauma Deli And Pizzeria has sandwiches, pizza, salads, hot dogs, nachos and baked goods. 

Entertainment: The Red Parrot Lounge, which is open daily from 10:30 a.m.-2 a.m, has cocktails and live music on the weekends. The Pauma Pavilion is an 815-seat outdoor covered venue with everything from Latin Nights to rock concerts.
